Alumni of Siliguri Girls High School helps the needy on the school’s 75th Foundation Day

Siliguri, 13th May: On the 75th Foundation Day of Siliguri Girls High School, the alumni took initiatives to carry out various social work amid the current alarming situation. The alumni of Siliguri Girls’ High School handed over ration to 75 needy people on Thursday.


Madhupa Sarkar, an alumnus, said that a total of 25 people have taken the initiative. Devaki Kundu, Saswati Dasgupta, Pragati Kar Sengupta, Sanjukta Basu, Chandratapa Das and many others are on the alumni list. At present they are all working in different fields.


Apparently, they started this social service programme a month ago out of love for the school and as a responsible person towards society. They handed over a draft of Rs 10,000 to a voluntary organization. They also provided Rs 10,000 to another association for oxygen cylinders and free ambulance service. They are moving ahead with their initiative and at their own expense. They also said that a blood donation camp will also be held soon by the organization to tackle the blood crisis in the city.
