AIDSO demanded to re-open educational institutions in compliance with COVID safety measures

Siliguri, 20th January: In view of the rising coronavirus cases, the state government has once again closed all educational institutions from January 03.

However, raising their voices to ‘save education’, the AIDSO Darjeeling District Committee demanded immediate re-opening of educational institutions in compliance with the COVID safety rules, on Thursday.

The AIDSO Darjeeling District Committee joined a sit-in protest near the Gandhi statue near Court More in Siliguri. They demanded appropriate infrastructure should be made in classrooms keeping the pandemic situation in mind, re-opening of educational institutions after vaccinating the students, and immediate cancellation of the National Education Policy 2020.

AIDSO Darjeeling District Committee Secretary Kallol Bagchi said, “We have a large student movement in the future to save education. Its initial initiative was taken today.”
