Siliguri, 05th October: Abhishek Saha, son of Bidhan Market Byabasayee Samiti secretary Bapi Saha, died in a road accident near Rohini in Kurseong while travelling in the hills.
According to reports, Abhishek went to the hills with a few friends on Sunday night when their vehicle met with an accident near Rohini. Abhishek died in the accident, while five others were injured.
Among the injured, two have been admitted to a private hospital in Siliguri, while the remaining three were reportedly discharged after receiving primary treatment.
Following news of Abhishek’s death, grief spread across the Bidhan Market area in Siliguri. Several traders in the market voluntarily kept their shops closed on Monday to stand by Bapi Saha and his family.
However, a member of the Bidhan Market Byabasayee Samiti clarified that the association had not officially called for any bandh or closure of shops. The traders closed their shops voluntarily and personally to support Bapi Saha’s family.
