50 buffaloes rescued before smuggling in Phansidewa, three arrested

Phansidewa, 03rd April:  Phansidewa police have recovered 50 buffaloes by conducting an operation on the Ghoshpukur-Fulbari bypass. Reportedly, based on a tip-off, the police intercepted two containers on the Ghoshpukur-Fulbari bypass this morning. After this, 50 buffaloes were rescued from the containers during the search. 


The police have also arrested three people in the said incident. The accused have been identified as Sakim Ahmed (51), Mohd Sabbir, and Sanu, all three residents of Uttar Pradesh. 

According to police sources, the rescued buffalo were being smuggled from Bihar to Assam. Today the three accused have been produced in the Siliguri Divisional Court. The police are probing the entire incident.
