Nagrakata, 10th June: Sensation prevailed after the lifeless body of a man was recovered from a residence in the Grassmore Tea Estate No. 4 line area under the Nagrakata block. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Mithun Barman, a resident of the Ethelbari area.
According to the deceased’s grandmother Minoti Baruah, Mithun had come to the Grassmore Tea Estate to visit her, two weeks ago. He was staying with her since then. As usual, she went to bathe in a nearby river and found the door locked when she returned. She eventually opened the door with the help of the locals and found the lifeless body of her grandson hanging from the noose.
The locals informed the Nagarakata police regarding the issue. The police immediately recovered the body and sent it to the hospital for an autopsy. An investigation has been launched regarding the matter.
