Alipurduar, 18th May: In a tragic incident, Fifteen tea workers were injured by a lightning strike in Alipurduar, with two of them in critical condition. The incident occurred during heavy rain and thundershowers on Saturday morning in the Dooars region.
Reportedly, the workers were plucking leaves in the Chuapara tea garden when lightning struck nearby. Among the injured, nine are women. The injured workers were promptly taken to Latabari Hospital, where two women in critical condition were referred to Alipurduar District Hospital for further treatment.
