World Wrestling Championships: Deepak Poonia eyeing gold medal, will be in finals today

New Delhi, 22nd September: Indian youth wrestler Deepak Poonia entered the finals in the World Wrestling Championships in the 86 kg weight category on Saturday with great performance. Today he will play to win the gold for India against Iranian wrestler Hasan Yazdani. Deepak may become the second Indian wrestler to win a gold medal for India after Sushil Kumar.
Deepak qualified for the Tokyo Olympics 2020, winning the quarter-final match played on Saturday. After this, Deepak, who landed in the semi-final bout, defeated Stephan Seichmuth of Switzerland 8–2 to advance to the final.
