World Photography Day

Every year, 19th August is celebrated as World Photography Day all over the world. The motive of World Photography Day is to unite all the photographers of the world. In 2009, an Australian Photographer Korske Ara introduced the World Photography Day campaign. On 19th August 2010, World Photography Day hosted its first Global Online Gallery. According to semiotics, the word ‘Photography’ originated from Greek terms ‘Photo’ (Light), and ‘Graphene’ (Drawing). The term (Photography) was first applied by Scientist Sir John F.W. Herschel in 1839.
