Why is Sadbhavana Diwas celebrated on 20th August?

Siliguri, 20th August: Every year, 20th August, commemorated as the birth anniversary of Former Prime Minister of India, Late Rajiv Gandhi, is celebrated as Sadbhavana Diwas. It is informed that Sadbhavana means to possess a positive feeling towards each other.  The day is also noted with another name such as ‘Harmony Day’ and ‘Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas’. Late Rajiv Gandhi was a young leader and the former Prime Minister of India. Every year ‘Sadbhavna Diwas’ is celebrated in memory of Rajiv Gandhi, who dreamt of making India a developed nation. His vision to amend India as a developed nation can be explicitly seen through social and economic works accomplished by PM for its foundation.
