The two-day Uttarbanga Utsav started at the Raas Mela ground of Coochbehar and was inaugurated by the North Bengal Development Minister, Rabindranath Ghosh.
Coochbehar District Council’s President Pushpita Ray Dakua, MLA Udayan Guha, Hiten Barman, District Magistrate Kaushik Saha were also present in the inauguration ceremony.
The students of the district were given Rs. 10,000 for their brilliance in academics. The students of Coochbehar’s Suniti Academy were also felicitated for making their place in the state talent competition.
Rabindranath Ghosh shared that the Uttarbanga Utsav had been inaugurated in Siliguri by the state’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, on January 8. Now, the two-day festival has been inaugurated in the district where local artists as well as the artists from Kolkata will participate in the events as well.
The festival in Siliguri will conclude on January 14 with a special marathon.
