Coronavirus in Siliguri Update: two persons tested positive

Siliguri, 18th May: The Siliguri Ward No. 6 resident who tested COVID-19 positive on Monday, is a fruit seller by profession. After developing coronavirus symptoms a few days ago, his throat swab was collected at the Siliguri District Hospital and was advised to stay in home quarantine. As his report emerged positive today, he was immediately admitted to the Matigara COVID-19 hospital. The news created a state of panic in the city and the police as well as the health department officials expressed concern.


On the other hand, the other COVID-19 positive patient from the Siliguri Ward No. 27 area returned from Kolkata a few days ago. After developing flu-like symptoms, he visited a doctor where his throat swab was collected for coronavirus testing. He was advised to stay in home quarantine.

SDO Sumanta Sahay stated that barricades have been put up around their houses to prevent the spread of the virus and also urged everyone to not create panic.
