New Delhi, 06th November: The Congress MPs staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha in protest against the Unnao(UP) incident where a 23-year-old rape survivor was set ablaze.

According to reports, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary from Congress questioned as to what is happening in the country as the Unnao rape victim has 95% burns. He further stated that on one hand, a Lord Ram temple is being constructed while, on the other hand, Sita Maiyas are being set ablaze. He further questioned as to how the criminals felt so emboldened.

Meanwhile, Smriti Irani from BJP hit back at the Opposition stating that women’s safety and respect should not be given a communal color. She also stated that a member used Telengana and Unnao incidents but selectively forgot Malda. She further stated that rape has been used as a political weapon in West Bengal and also stated that whatever happened in Telegana and Unnao are shameful and the accused should be hanged, but these incidents should not be used for doing politics.
