Malda, 06th January: Two workers died late last night in a road accident near Ghodapir in Malda. The deceased have been identified as Ramvilas Mahato (52) and Krishna Mandal (46), residents of Kulipada, Englishbazaar.
According to sources, the duo was returning home on a bicycle around midnight, when a pickup van near Ghodapir rammed into their bicycle. After the incident, both were taken to Malda Medical College-Hospital. Considering the deteriorating condition of Krishna Mandal, he was further refered to Kolkata but succumbed to his injuries on the way. On the other hand, Ramvilas Mahato also died this morning during treatment.
