Two arrested with endangered gecko

Siliguri, 13th September: The North Bengal Special Task Force of Baikunthapur Forest Department arrested two youths identified as Atul Sarkar and Jiban Barman from Fatapukur area of Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway on Friday early morning. They both are residents of Falakata in Alipurduar district.


Sanjay Dutta (Ranger of Belakoba Range) informed that based on a tip-off, they conducted a covert operation and arrested the culprits along with a gecko (a rare type of lizard) worth 5 lakh rupees. The arrested were produced at the Jalpaiguri court today.
