Truck Hits & Kills Raiganj Man, Locals Protest Over Poor Traffic Arrangements

A man died because of being hit by a truck on national highway 34 of Boruduari in Raiganj today in the morning. The deceased, Biswanath Barman, used to reside in Raiganj’s Lakhaniya.

After the incident, the locals of the area staged a protest on the national highway. The people said that two major roads join at the national highway, which is why it experiences constant traffic. They shared that the area frequently witnesses road accidents as improper traffic arrangements have caused the road’s side to be eroded, making the highway uneven.

The locals also accused the administration of not taking any action in the case and turning a blind eye to the accident victims. Meanwhile, the Raiganj Police arrived and dispersed the agitated demonstrators after assuring them of better traffic arrangements.
