The hilly regions in the Darjeeling district have been experiencing heavy rainfall and landslides due to which the tourists travelling to Sikkim and Dooars have been stranded in Siliguri. Majority of the tourists are trying to reach their destination by changing their routes.
The Tourists are forced to take the route to Sikkim via Darjeeling because of the landslide. According to the information received from the Sikkim Nationalised Transport sources, transportation from Sikkim to Siliguri and vice versa, has been halted due to landslides reported in various areas including Kalijhora and Sevoke.
