Tourist dies due to negligence in treatment in Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 23rd October: Sensation prevailed in Madarihat of Alipurduar after a man identified as Dilip Kumar Sarkar (64) died due to negligence in treatment.


It was reported that Sarkar, a resident of Barasat Noapara, went for a Bhutan tour with 11 family members of a retired Kolkata Police official. They then went to Madarihat on Tuesday to visit Jaldapara National Park. Sarkar fell ill on Wednesday and was immediately rushed to the Madarihat Primary Health Center.

Allegedly, the hospital tried to provide treatment to Sarkar through two oxygen cylinders, but the cylinders were empty. The family members alleged that his death occurred due to negligence in treatment. His body has been sent to Alipurduar District Hospital for an autopsy. However, no response has been received from the health department.
