The Supreme Court has announced that the triple talaq will not be considered as a valid divorce system for the next six months.
The decision was taken by a bench of five judges that included Justice Kurien Joseph, RF Nariman and Justice U.U. Lalit.
With a majority of three over two, the triple talaq system was deemed unconstitutional under the Article 14 and 15.
The government has been informed that in the next six months, an appropriate set of laws will be framed to tackle the system of triple talaq.
In the next six months, if any person is divorced by their spouse then the victim can approach the court for help.
