Siliguri, 18th November: Governor Jagdeep Dhankar, once again on his Siliguri tour, expressed his displeasure over the role of the state government. Recently, there have been reports of conflicts between the Governor and the State Government over several incidents. At a press conference in the Siliguri State Guest House, Governor Jagdeep Dhankar said that he can go anywhere in the state as per the constitution and does not require permission. He further said that he works as a bridge between the Central and the State.
Several ministers of the state have commented on the role of the Governor. In that regard, he alleged that such comments were made to create politics.
He also denied running a parallel government and stated that if that would be the case, then instead of the CM’s banners and hoardings, his banners would be situated beside the streets and administrative officers would also be present at the meeting called by him.
Attacking this statement, the State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb held a press conference after the Governor's conference and called out the Governor to be a mere guest and stated that such a comment was made by him only for attention.
