SSB confiscates a large quantity of goods in Kharibari, one arrested

Kharibari, 24th February: Based on a tip-off, the jawans of the 41st battalion of SSB launched operations and seized goods that were being illegally transported to Nepal. One person has been arrested in the incident.

According to SSB sources, the seized goods were being illegally transported to Nepal in a vegetable-laden vehicle. The SSB officials, upon suspicion, stopped a pick-up van at the Panitanki bridge. Upon searching, a huge quantity of fabrics was found hidden underneath the vegetables. The driver also failed to show all necessary documents of the goods. Following this, the pickup van was detained and the driver was arrested.

The market value of the seized goods including the seized vehicle has been estimated to be around 9 lakh 97 thousand rupees. The seized vehicle, goods as well as the arrested accused have been handed over to the Panitanki Custom.
