On the third death anniversary of Gorkha National Liberation Front's founder, late Subhash Ghising, a public meeting was held in the motor stand of Darjeeling by the party on Sunday.
The President of the party and the late founder's son, Mann Ghising, paid a tribute to Subhash Ghising by lighting a total of 108 diyas. A big crowd was seen at the public meeting, where the people arrived bearing the party flags and wore tilaks on their forehead.
During the time, Mann Ghising said that political strategies will no longer work as a solution for the hills. He said that the people had to suffer a lot in the 104 days of the strike and that the situation may go out of control anytime if the GTA board is not dissolved soon.
Mann Ghising further said that the sixth schedule may be the only way to solve the hills' issue. The public meeting of GNLF was also attended by Neeraj Zimba, Mahendra Chettri and Maris Kalikote.
