Siliguri: Failed Attempt Of Robbery At Jewellery Store, Security Guard Suffers Bullet Injury

Three men attempted to rob a prominent jewellery store at Hill Cart Road, Siliguri today in the evening. Their plan, however, failed and the public managed to grab hold of the three.

It has been found that the men broke into the shop with a revolver in their hand. They shot a security guard named Rana Sheikh in the foot, which led the guard to fall on the ground.

The men entered the store and ordered the people inside to gather in a corner. They proceeded to pack the valuables in a bag and were on their way out when the mob that had collected outside caught hold of them.

After the mob caught them, the three accused were publicly thrashed. The Siliguri Police arrived at the scene and rescued the three men from the mob’s clutches.

The trio was admitted to the hospital. Meanwhile, the injured security guard was also taken to a private nursing home in the city.

An investigation has commenced in the case.
