Siliguri, July 11 (Shubhankar Pal): Road communication between Siliguri and Sikkim has been muddled after a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall occurred near Setijhora on NH 10 this morning. The mud has been continuously slipping from the hill near Setijhora creating more challenges in the relief works. According to the administration, traffic movement is not possible until and unless the debris is completely removed.
Significantly, the NH 10 serves as a life line of road connectivity between Siliguri and Sikkim. As the traffic has come to a grinding halt, several tourist vehicles are getting stranded due to the landslide without any food or water. Most of the tourist vehicles are taking the alternative road of Darjeeling to reach Sikkim. Ambulance is also trapped in the chaos.
