Rankireddy and Shetty held their nerves to get the better of World No. 3 Li Jun Hui and Liu Yu Chen of China in an intense quarterfinals clash that lasted for 43 minutes.
The Indian duo of Rankireddy and Shetty defeated their Chinese opponents 21-19, 21-15 to advance into the semis, leaving the crowd in the hall absolutely stunned.
With the victory, the Indian duo of Rankireddy and Shetty, who are currently ranked World No.9, will climb to the seventh spot in next week's rankings.
