The University Grants Commission (UGC) has allotted Rs. 15 crores for the structural development of the North Bengal University.
State government’s Nodal officers Shishir Ranjan Bhaduri and Gopal Chakrabarty, who are the members of secondary education department, arrived in the university on Monday to review the developmental work.
As per the university’s officials, the report of the meeting that had been held to discuss the amount of money to be used in various sections will be submitted to the secondary education department.
Executive Registrar Dr. Lakshmikant Padhi shared that the fund will be used for purchasing books for the library, constructing smart class rooms, water refinery project and to the students’ hostels.
New hostels will be constructed in the campus and arrangements for wi-fi services will also be done. Dr. Lakshmikant Padhi further added that CCTV cameras will be installed as well for tightening the security arrangements.
