Protest Held Against Attack On NBU Students In Siliguri

The students of North Bengal University blocked the Asian Highway-2 to protest against the attack on the hostel students in Shivmandir of Siliguri.


As per sources, the hostel students were returning to the hostel after having food on Wednesday night when a group of people suddenly attacked them.

The other students arrived in the area on being informed and caught the accused. The students handed over the accused to the Civic Volunteers. It has been alleged that the accused were later released.


To protest against the incident, the students blocked the Asian Highway-2 in the night demanding to arrest the accused and to make appropriate security arrangements for the students.

The Matigara Police reached the scene and took control of the situation. The demonstration was stopped soon after the police assured to arrest the accused in 24 hours.
