Hemant Goutam, a member of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha’s Central Committee and a leader of the GJM’s branch in Terai, had been arrested by the police four days ago. When he was presented at the court, he was sentenced to five days of police remand.
Today morning, a team of the Darjeeling police reached Goutam’s place at 11am. The police raided Hemant Goutam’s residence while he was present there with them.
Sources share that the police recovered some important documents from Gautam’s residence and his shop during the raid.
Along with this, the police also seized the official receipt book of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, in which all of the party’s financial transactions have been recorded.
However, the police refused to disclose other findings of the raid.
