Today the people in Toofanganj 31 No. of Coochbehar protested for Clean Drinking water on the National Highway.
It is known that in Chilkhana-2 number of Toofanganj Mahakuma of Coochbehar district, people of Nutan Bazar area of Gram Panchayat have not been getting water for the last 3 months, due to which the people today blocked the highway and protested.
Locals alleged that due to non-availability of drinking water people were getting sick by drinking tap water. This is why the protest was been done today. Due to the protest there was a problem of traffic jam on Coochbehar-Toofanangaj road as observed.
