Siliguri, 6th February: In a recent development, an individual has been arrested with a significant quantity of brown sugar in Siliguri. The accused has been identified as Ranjit Chhetri, a resident of Jhankar More area.
According to reports, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Siliguri Metropolitan Police and NJP police launched a tip-off operation in an area under the NJP Police Station and apprehended Ranjit.
During the subsequent search, 300 grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be in lakhs of rupees. The accused will be produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday. At present, the police are engaged in investigating the entire incident.
