Negligence in government work will not be tolerated at all: Chief Minister

Siliguri, 22nd October: The State Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, today, in Siliguri, stated that negligence in government work will not be tolerated and strict measures will be taken against the careless people if needed. On Tuesday, the Chief Minister held an administrative meeting in Uttar Kanya regarding the 3 districts of North Bengal - Alipurduar, Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri. Many higher and lower officials of the administration attended the meeting.


In a meeting that started at 2 pm, the Chief Minister questioned various departments and administrative officials about the various government functions. The Chief Minister discussed with the officials regarding the old and widow allowances along with the Employment Guarantee Scheme, Swasthya Sathi Yojana, Health Insurance Scheme, Krishak Bandhu Yojana, Nirmal Bangla Yojana. Later, the Chief Minister directed the officials that all government works in the public interest should be completed as soon as possible. If negligence is shown, strict action will be taken against the individual. Along with this, the Chief Minister also gave instructions for early disposal of other matters including land-related problems. As per the schedule, the Chief Minister left for Kurseong after the meeting.
