Memorandum sent to Minister of Education in protest against two months holiday declared in government schools

On Wednesday, a memorandum was sent to Minister of Education through District School Circular, on behalf of the Cooch Behar District Secondary Teachers and the Shiksha Karmi Samiti, in response to the state government's declaration for two months leave in government schools.

Earlier, a protest was also held outside the office of the District School Inspector. Uday Shankar Bhattacharya, President of Cooch Behar District Secondary Teacher and Shiksha Karmi Samiti, said that the memorandum has been sent because a circular has been passed on May 3, under which all government schools were to be closed till June 30. This will make the education system fail. This would have led to loss of studies.
