Man Shoots During Family Dispute In N. Dinajpur, Two Injured

A man fired bullets during a family dispute and injured two other people. The incident took place in the Munshiganj locality of Chopra, North Dinajpur.

According to reports, Munshiganj-resident Najma Begum had married a man named Mohammad Farook who hailed from Hajaribigha, Chopra Block.

It has been alleged that Farook's in-laws used to torture Najma and demanded dowry from her. A few days ago, Najma ran away from the house to escape the in-laws' harassment.

On behalf of Najma's family, a missing diary was registered at the Chopra Police Station. When her family went to Farook's house to ask about  Najma's whereabouts, Farook allegedly started firing bullets at them.

Two of Najma's relatives, Mustak Kamaal and Chand Ali, got injured during the firing. At present, the police has been deployed in the area. Farook, however, is said to be on the run.
