Man Falls From Railway Bridge In More Bazaar, Dies

A man reportedly fell from More Bazaar’s railway bridge in to a river Wednesday. The man goes by the name of Jhantu Sarkar. He succumbed to his injuries while he was getting treated at a nearby hospital.

Sources stated that the bridge was in a poor condition since a long time and the administration had not taken any steps to repair it.

The incident took place when Sarkar attempted to cross the bridge but slipped and fell instead. He suffered a severe injury on his head, which later led to his death.

Locals of the area held a protest where they burnt a tyre on the bridge. Sarkar’s family also protested and blocked the road. They had Sarkar’s body with them during the demonstration.

The situation was later controlled by the NJP Police.
