Three Men Thrashed By Locals In Malda Over Suspicion Of Being Cattle Thieves

Three men were thrashed by the local residents after they were suspected to be cattle thieves. The incident took place in the Piran-e-Pir area of English Bazaar in Malda.

Two of the men have been recognized as Rezaul Karim (24) and Tahidul Momin (30). Both are the residents of Babla, Mothabari.

According to sources, the locals caught the men after they saw the trio wandering suspiciously in the area late in the night.

The locals questioned the men, but the trio could not respond properly; following which the residents started beating them. One of the accused managed to flee from the site while the other two were left severely injured.

The English Bazaar Police reached the area on being informed about the incident and admitted Rezaul and Tahidul to the Malda Medical College and Hospital. A probe has now been directed in the case.
