A lorry collided with another lorry on national highway 512 of the 20 Mile area in Gajol, Malda today, which caused the death of two people while wounding two others.
The drivers of both the lorries passed away. Their names have been stated as Safarul Sheikh (21) and Khadir Sheikh (22). Each lorry had a conductor too, both of who suffered injuries. The injured duo has been identified as Julan Sheikh (20) and Umar Faroom (27). The four men hailed from Sahebdanga Village of Jharkhand’s Sahebdanga district.
Sources reveal that both the lorries were carrying stones. One of them was going towards Balurghat when the other one, which was coming from the opposite direction, hit it.
The drivers of the lorries died on the spot and the injured conductors were taken to the Gajol Hospital by the accident’s witnesses. The Gajol Police arrived soon after and sent the corpses to the Malda Medical College and Hospital for the autopsy report before seizing the two lorries.
