Life imprisonment sentenced to husband in wife's murder case

Five years ago in the case where a husband murdered his wife in a drunken state, the Malabazar Addition District and sessions judge court sentenced him to life imprisonment. The accused has been named as Nauru Munda (60). He is a resident of the Ambachappal line at the Idang Tea Garden of Maitiali Police Station.

According to quoted sources, on January 31, 2013, Nauru Munda had demanded money from his wife Sumi Munda for drinking alcohol. When he did not get the money, he started beating his wife first with a stick and later attacked her with a stone. After this he did not allow his wife to be taken to the hospital, which led to the death of his wife Sumi Munda.

On Wednesday, Nauru Munda was presented in the Malabazar edition District and sessions Judge Court, where he was sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000. Yesterday he was taken to Jalpaiguri Central Jail.
