Like every year, during Durga Pooja this year as well, innorder to ensure smooth flow of the traffic, Siliguri traffic police has closed the roads in various places of the city. Meanwhile, the traffic police has told extensively that on which roads the vehicle will run and which roads they will not run during the Pooja celebration.
From the evening of October 14 Monday to October 21 on Sunday evening, some restrictions have been imposed on the traffic of vehicles in the city's main roads. From 14 to 15 October, from four o'clock in the evening to two o'clock in the night, two-wheeler or four-wheelers will not be allowed to drive on the city's main roads. It has been decided to avoid traffic problems in the city in view of the common people.
Apart from this, this rule will be applicable from 4 pm to 4 am the next morning on the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th and the 21st of October. According to traffic arrangement, no vehicle can travel on the main streets of the city in the time schedule given above. Various routes of traffic have also been changed during the Pooja worship.
During this time, freight trains from Siliguri to Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Assam would depart from Naukaghat. Buses traveling from Siliguri to Kolkata and Bihar will be leave from the transport nagar.
Apart from this, traffic from Nayabazar and Khalpada to Sikkim, trucks travelling to Kalimpong and Malabazar, will travel from via Jalpaiguri, Naukhaghat, Ambadi Canal Road and Eastern Bypass, and will travel on roads that will lead towards Sevoke road.
