A man slashed his own throat while he was working at a jute mill in the Coochbehar Chakchaka Shilpkendra today in the morning.
The man has been recognized as Umesh Mukhia. He was a resident of Bihar's Samastipur who used to cut sacks at the jute mill.
Today morning, Mukhia was working when he suddenly slashed his own throat with the knife that is used to cut out sacks. Other workers who were around rushed him to the Coochbehar MJN Hospital, but Mukhia died before they arrived there.
According to police sources, the body has been sent for the postmortem report and an investigation has been initiated in the case.
Meanwhile, plantation owner Kinkar Mala shared that Mukhia was known to be a drug addict. He, however, did not know as to why Mukhia would take away his own life.
