Jawan returns home wrapped in tri-color, will be cremated on Monday

Siliguri, 13th October: The mortal remains of Martyr Subhash Thapa of Siliguri, who lost his life after Pakistan violated the ceasefire on Friday morning in the Nowshera sector of the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, reached Bagdogra airport in Siliguri on Sunday afternoon.
Thapa was injured due to the pellet of mortar shelling and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Hundreds of people, including State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb, MP Shanta Chettri, District Magistrate paid their tributes to the martyred jawan after his body arrived at Bagdogra airport. Thapa was given the guard of honor by the jawans at the airport. According to the information received, Thapa's mortal remains will be kept in the Bengdubi Army Cantonment today. On Monday, the body will be taken to his house in Panighata, where he will be cremated.
