Jalpaiguri Court Gives Life Sentence To Advocate's Murder-Accused

The accused who was responsible for the murder of Advocate Kishore Chand has been given the life sentence by the Jalpaiguri District Court.

Advocate Kishore Chand had been murdered at his own residence on November 23, 2015. During the postmortem, it was seen that Kishore had been stabbed around 17 times.

The police had commenced an investigation in the case right after the case came to light and they were successful in nabbing the accused, Jyotish Pramanik, from Bagpat in Uttar Pradesh.

Subhash Basu, a government lawyer, stated that Pramanik was sentenced to serve a life term in front of two eye witnesses along with 12 other witnesses.

It has been found that Kishore Chand had been killed over a minor dispute. Today, Judge Somnath Banerjee gave Pramanik the life sentence; which brought along justice after two years of the advocate's death.
