Jal Mahotsav organised by Indian Army in Gajaldoba

Rajganj, 12th August: Indian Army organised Jal Mahotsav on the auspicious occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav of the nation’s 75th Independence in Gajaldoba. Indian Air Force, SSB, BSF, CRPF, NCC, West Bengal Police, Railway Police, Forest Department and Irrigation Department participated in the event.


The Jal Mahotsav not only organised cultural programs but also boat racing in Teesta-Mahananda Link Canal. The jawans of various corps took part in the racing competition.


Indian Army officials said that the Jal Mahotsav was organised to pay homage to those who contributed to building the nation. Apart from India’s freedom struggle, thousands and lakhs of Indian soldiers sacrificed their lives in World War II, Indo-China War and Bangladesh’s freedom struggle. The festival was dedicated to paying respects to the unsung heroes of our nation.
