Indo-Nepal Border Becomes A Ghost Town With Nepal’s Elections

As the second phase of the legislative elections commences in Nepal, the Indo-Nepal border area has transformed into a ghost town.

The Indo-Nepal border had been sealed on Monday and as the election takes place today, fewer vehicles are being witnessed on the roads.

The localities of Deviganj, Bhatgaon and Panitanki are seen to have deserted roads and the effect is similar on the markets near the border as well.
