India whitewash series against South Africa

Ranchi, 22nd October: India successfully whitewashed the series against South Africa as they defeated them by an innings and 202 runs in the third and final Test on Tuesday. Based on a superb all-round performance, India won the three-Test series and got 40 points from this win. India has consolidated its position at the top of the table with 240 points by winning all five of their matches in the World Test Championship.

India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first. India had declared their first innings for 497 runs at the loss of nine wickets. South Africa was, then, bowled out for 162 runs in the first innings and were asked to follow on. In the second innings, South Africa kept losing wickets continuously and was ultimately all out for 133 runs.
