Immoral activities take place in Bengal in the name of Durga Puja: Sayantan Basu

Siliguri, 19th October: During a press meet in Siliguri today, State BJP general secretary Sayantan Basu took a jibe at the state government accusing the Trinamool party workers of indulging in obscenity in the name of Durga Puja in Bengal. He further claimed that there is no reverence for Durga Puja in Bengal.

Commenting of the Calcutta High Court's decision to declare all Durga Puja pandals in Bengal as no-entry zones, Basu questioned if the Mamata Banerjee-led government would really implement the directive in the state.

Furthermore, Sayantan Basu called Rs 50,000 cheque being provided to the Puja Committees by the state as a tactic to gain cut money and vote bank.
