Illegal logs worth lakhs recovered in joint operation of forest workers and SSB

Under the Baksa Tiger Project, the employees of the Pana range and the SSB have recovered lakhs of rupees worth logs of wood by running a joint operation.

According to the news from sources, the Pana range of the forest department had received information from secret sources that illegal logs werr being carried out on the river Dima located at nine number compartment of Gangutia Beat in Kalchini block of Alipurduar district, on the basis of which the Range's workmen and SSB reached the spot and started the campaign.

During this campaign, large number of illegal logs of wood, including 24 bicycles, were recovered.

Viplav Kumar Deb, of Pana Range, told that the recovered pieces have been brought to the Range office, whose estimated value is more than lakhs of rupees.
