HPWU Demands Tripartite Meeting To Resolve Tea Workers’ Problems

A rally was taken out by the central committee of the Himalayan Plantation Workers’ Union (HPWU) which is approved by Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) in Darjeeling.

The organization demanded to conduct a tripartite meeting from the state government for resolving the issue of the tea workers. As per the organization, the tea estate owners are not giving facilities which should be given to the tea workers through the DTA Act.

The organization also said that GTA will also have to give the wages to the tea workers, else they will protest by gathering around GTA’s office.
