A man was reported to be dead from what is believed to be a leopard attack in Nimti Domohani of Kalchini Nimti Range. The deceased was deaf and made a living by taking livestock animals to graze.
On receiving the news, the rangers of Nimti Range, Bhawen Rishi reached the area along with the forest officials and the Kalchini Police.
The ADFO of Buxa Tiger Reserve, Durgakant Jha, believes that the grazier was killed during an animal attack, possibly by a leopard.
He said, “The cause of his death can only be determined after the postmortem report arrives.”
An investigation has commenced in the case.
