Darjeeling, 17th November: A representative team of the Gorkha National Liberation Front's (GNLF) trade union, the Himalayan Plantation Workers' Union (HPWU), left for Delhi to meet with the Union Minister of Labor. The team will be discussing various problems and demands of the workers of the tea gardens in the Darjeeling hills and plains.
The delegation that departs Delhi consists of the Executive Chairman of the organization, DK Gurung, General Secretary SK Lama, and GNLF Media Cell in-charge Dinesh Sampang. A program to meet Union Labour Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar in New Delhi tomorrow has been arranged. As per DK Gurung, in the meeting, various demands of the tea workers of the Hills will be discussed and a memorandum will also be submitted to the Minister.
