GNLF object the decision to give up tea garden's land for hotel business

Darjeeling, 6th November: Political body Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) has strongly condemned the decision of the Bengal Government to allot tea garden's land for hotel business. The said decision was made on October 31 according to which 15 percent land of the tea estates in Darjeeling hill is to be given up for hotel business.


Addressing the media at the GNLF Darjeeling branch office today, GNLF's Himalayan Plantation Workers Union (HPWU), secretary, S. K. Lama stated that the GNLF firmly denounce the decision of the Bengal Government and claimed to stage an agitation against it. He has raised the question as to why the Binay Tamang faction Gorkha Janmukti Morcha's labor organization is not speaking on this vital subject. Lama further added that the HPWU and the entire GNLF family will be supporting the protest.
