Siliguri, 10th September: Alleging MP Raju Bista of “trying to disturb” peace in the area, supporters of Binay Tamang faction Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) showed black flags at the MP and shouted slogans like ‘Go Back’ while he was on his way to Tukvar, on Monday. Bista later alleged that a group of “40-50 drunk youths held him hostage by indulging in the drama”.
Through a press release, Bimal Gurung faction GJM spokesperson B.P. Bajgain, on Tuesday, stated India is a democratic republic country and everyone has the right to protest, but no one has the right to suspend the parliamentary program for four hours. As he mentioned that according to Article 186 of the Indian Penal Code, whoever voluntarily obstructs any public servant in the discharge of his public functions, shall be punished. Therefore, the Bimal Gurung faction GJM demanded the administration to arrest those who obstructed the path of MP Raju Bista on Monday as soon as possible.
